Dell's New Ultra-Thin Laptop and Inkless Printer

Dell's new ultra-thin laptop gets a good friskin' by a random. They also released an inkless portable printer for the Polaroid mourners

For those of you who have just visited the Dell Australia website, you may have noticed the new Adamo advert. In brief, it's their new ultra-thin laptop, an answer, if you will, to the Apple MacBook Air. Being that Dell threw a few press releases to the media today, we're betting some of you have been on the Dell website and are slightly curious about the new lappie. Well, the website points us to a YouTube video that gives you a hands-on look at what the Adamo is all about, so to round out your Wednesday, take a peek.

Dell also released an inkless printer today, the Wasabi. Like the Polaroid Zink-based inkless (pictured on the front page, the Wasabi used Ink technology. Small enough to carry around in your pocket, it will connect to most portable cameras (from camera phones to digital compacts) and allows you to print ink free. Weighing in at 200 grams it will be available late February for $219. Not a bad buy when you think about it.

Can't begin to get my head around an inkless printer which is so small that it can fit into your pocket! That would be an awesome buy from the sound of it, but then you'd have to look at the finer details like the size of printing, what needs to be replaced etc.

Yeah, that would be mad to hav an inkless miniature printer. Wondering also how large the print sizes would be, and what extras are required to run it.

Though the Dell Adamo looks pretty sweet, I'd still prefer the MacBook Air just for Apple's track record. I know a few friends who have Dell PCs, and I've also had a couple of Dell PCs before, and they've always crashed prematurely in some way or give you problems when running.

From the front page pic, it looks like it can only print out polaroid sized photos. Makes sense considering the overall size of the device! Quality looks pretty good from the pic as well.
