NSW to Fry this Weekend

Middle East? Sahara? Mexico? Pfft! You’ve got nothing on New South Wales when it comes to heat

Sydney is set to sizzle:

Hell has a new home and it’s New South Wales. Australia’s most populated state is set to become the hottest place on the planet over the weekend. Meteorologists expect parts of western NSW to hit highs of 47 degrees C while the state's capital, Sydney, looks like it will venture into the 40s as well, with an expected top of 44. This heatwave comes just days after Melbourne and Adelaide had more than a week of severe temperatures that often reached into the mid-40s. Today, Adelaide is again sweltering in 40 degree C heat.

With little to no rainfall expected, and dry blustery conditions forecast, NSW is on high alert for bush fires. Authorities suggest people stay indoors and keep well hydrated.

With that in mind it’s also expected that electricity use will reach record levels in the Harbour City. Sydney hit a new summer record yesterday, the Daily Telegraph reports, using 14,000mW.

It will be just like in Melbourne no doubt, where they had such massive demands on the electrical grid that controlled blackouts were necessary to keep the grid from overloading. Surely there must be some way of keeping cool without the need to turn on a fan or airconditioner?

I think it would be more prudent to look at ways to expand the grid so as to increase the amount of power available. Surely the weather forecasts would give an indication of future power consumption to the utilities people!

"Sydney hit a new summer record yesterday, the Daily Telegraph reports, using 14,000mW."

No surprise there, but I bet we'll top that again this weekend.

What with everyone still in cautious mode regarding water usage, the easiest way to stay cool is to just stay indoors.

That or as I said earlier, the cool room at a bottleshop is even colder

If it was simply hot, then it would be much easier to bear by staying indoors. But because the humidity is so high as well, you simply can't escape it!

That's probably why people become compulsive shoppers during summer. And also why you now have to pay for parking more than 3 hours pretty much everywhere you go.

Hmm...Hit up two different shopping places, stay for 3 hours each. Seems a good way to spend a Sunday out of the heat hahahaha
